What is Striven?

Let’s imagine that every single person in San Diego (about 2.5 million) got together to play a game of dice, each using a die with one trillion sides.  Now imagine that every person roll their die and end up getting the exact same number! I think it’s safe to say that it would be pretty f****** crazy right? Well, that’s about the same probability of you being born as the person you are; the probability comes out to be approximately one in one in 102,685,000.

So keeping that insanely large number in mind, please realize that YOU are a miracle.

When you realize that you are virtually a statistical improbability; when you realize that you are an absolute miracle of a human being, it tends to put things into perspective. We have this one life and you should begin to focus on what you do in your day to day life.  With such a great opportunity, shouldn’t we be focusing on our own well being and achieving the greatest possible happiness? Shouldn’t we focus on building life long relationships with people that genuinely care about our success? Shouldn’t we strive to be better every single day and reach for our dreams? Unfortunately, the overwhelming majority of people have not thought about it, let alone dedicate their time to answering these questions.

So why aren’t we focusing on the  things that are truly valuable in life? What is getting in the way of you taking a step in a positive direction each day for yourself and the ones you love around you? Why are the majority of our minds so clouded with negativity, exhaustion, jealousy, feelings of inadequacy? Although someone could probably write a damn thesis paper for each one of those questions, there is a simpler answer. The combination of our own opinions of ourselves, how we believe others perceive us, the constant negative influence of social media, the ability to rely on technology to secrete dopamine and produce positive feelings that don’t last, the work place you go to every week that seems to be sucking away at your soul, and for many the inability to know how to take those steps forward and the absence of a support system.

But what if we altered that?  What if we decided to build a community focused solely on positivity, self-improvement, self-awareness, mental health and physical health? What if we built an outlet for those looking to make improvements and provided the tools on how to deal with the stressors of life?  What if we were able to provide you with the support and motivation you need to get back on track? This is Striven Life.

Our goal at StrivenLife.com is to be the leader of this community and continually motivate you to be the best person you can be, striving for the life you want while you also become a part of the community who does the same for others!

At the same time, Striven Life is the place where I will grow along side all of you through the good times, bad times, failures and success. We will celebrate them all, both yours and mine. Whether it is a failure or a success it is worthy of celebration because it is the result of effort and a drive to move forward, as long as we utilize our failures to motivate us, to drive us, to learn from, and build from.

You may ask who are you to tell us how to get to these end goals? You may ask what are your credentials? To that I say, I am merely a person who from a young age  found themselves extremely in tune with their own emotions and the emotions of others.  Despite knowing who I wanted to be or how I felt, I allowed the pressures and influences of others dictate who I was and who  I thought I was able to be. This led me to hit rock bottom. When you hit rock bottom, there is only one place to look and that is upward. Since high school, I have been tirelessly working to find my individuality and living the life I knew I could.

I’m a lifelong learner who doesn’t settle for second, turns dreams into goals and ultimately has a passion for helping others do the same. Over the years, I have done research at top institutions and developed methods that I am excited to share to help you build the life you have dreamed of.  I am Nicholas Rizzo and I invite you on this journey with me to live a Striven Life. It is a life where we constantly strive to reach our goals in our professional, inter-personal, and intra-personal life as an individual and as a community. I look forward to working with each and every one of you.
